    Inside Line Promotions – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (Aug. 6, 2018) – A pair of special $1,000-to-win events will take place this weekend in Texas for the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass.

    The North vs. South Shootout is Friday at RPM Speedway in Crandall and Saturday at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville. The Stock Non-Wing and Restricted ‘A’ Class divisions will compete both nights, which are co-sanctioned with the POWRi Align Pro Lonestar 600s presented by K&K Earthworks, with each A Main paying the Stock Non-Wing winner $1,000 and the Restricted ‘A’ Class winner $300.

    Daniel Shaffer enters the weekend with a 69-point lead in the Stock Non-Wing championship standings thanks to a series-leading nine top fives and 13 top 10s. Daison Pursley ranks second with Trey Burke only 92 points out of the lead.

    Ryder Laplante and Ryan Timms have showcased a torrid battle atop the Restricted ‘A’ Class championship standings throughout the season. Laplante, who leads the division with five feature victories, holds a seven-point advantage over Timms – the most recent winner. Kale Drake is 75 points behind Laplante.

    A dozen drivers have scored at least one Stock Non-Wing win this season. Chris Cochran, Hank Davis, Frank Flud and Shaffer are tied atop the list with two victories apiece while Chris Andrews, Jerry McGinnis, Pursley, Chase Randall, Jase Randolph, Morgan Roan, Colby Stubblefield and Jason Tyer each have one triumph.

    While Laplante leads the Restricted ‘A’ Class victory list with five trips into the Winner’s Circle, Shawn Mahaffey is close behind with four wins. Garth Kasiner and Timms each have two triumphs while Drake, Rees Moran and Caleb Rouser have produced one win apiece.

    The RPM Speedway gates open at 5 p.m. with the draw open from 5:45 p.m. until the drivers meeting at 7 p.m. Hot laps will begin at 7:45 p.m.

    The front gates at Superbowl Speedway open at 6 p.m. with the draw open from 5:15 p.m. until the drivers meeting at 6:45 p.m. Hot laps begin at 7:30 p.m.

    Also, Saturday is Back to School Night at Superbowl Speedway. NOW600 Series and track officials urge everyone to bring a backpack, school supplies or both to help members of the community. Donations can be dropped off at the front gate or at the competition trailer.
